Pond Life (Pre - 6th)We use our Walden Pond to explore a pond ecosystem in this enjoyable class. We take a look at how ponds are made and learn about the creatures and plants that live there. Discover who eats who in the food chain and what job each animal has in its environment. Once you've learned about the pond life ecosystem, go out and catch some critters for closer examination. This class teaches the value of life as we realize that every living thing has a place in this world.(Not available for suitcase science workshops.) |

Insects & Spiders
(Pre - 4th) Explore the world of invertebrates as we take a closer look at insects and arachnids in this hands-on class. We will discover what it means to be an invertebrate and learn the differences between our six and eight-legged friends. Children will get a chance to meet some live critters and will even make an insect of their own! This interactive class is an incredible way to get kids excited bugs. Come join the fun! |

Ocean Life (K - 6th) This show-and-tell style class is a great way for children to get to know ocean animals. Explorers get a chance to play games that teach them where sea creatures live and which ones have backbones. We even dress up a volunteer with what would be needed to survive in the ocean. Enjoy as one of our "Old Salt" educators takes you and your class on a trip through the ocean. Bon voyage! |
| Cactus Walk (1st & up) Cacti sometimes look as if they belong on another planet. In order to survive the harsh environment of a desert, cacti have developed some amazing adaptations. Watch as we turn one of your students into a cactus and take the entire class on a cacti adventure. Come discover these strange life forms as we walk through the Deutsch Cactus Garden, an impressive collection of cacti from around the world. (Not available for suitcase science workshops.) |
