January:
Burley Bears
Bears are one of nature's most fascinating creatures! This month, we'll learn all about the basic anatomy of a bear and where they live. Through fun, hands-on activities, children will learn about hibernation, and how a mother bear raises her cubs. They'll also learn about the difference in size of bear hands and feet compared to their own hands and feet. Finally, we'll conclude the class with a teddy bear picnic with our favorite teddy bears!

Animal Defenses
Animals have a number of natural defense mechanisms to help protect them from other creatures in the wild. This month, children will learn about four very different animal defenses. In our first class, we'll study the defenses used by the dinosaurs long ago, including plate amour, horns, and spikes. Our second session will focus on poisonous animals and how their bright colors can warn predators to stay away. Finally, we'll learn about animals that hide through creative play, and how animals that camouflage themselves are different from those that hide.
Class schedules are as follows:
January - February: Thursdays from 9:30 - 10:30 am
