Have a Fun-Filled Birthday at The Discovery Center!

Bring your child to the Discovery Center to celebrate their birthday! Here, they'll live out their dreams of being an Explorer, a Scientist or even an Astronaut. At the Discovery Center, we'll create the perfect birthday for your child!

Bring all their friends and allow them to experience a tour of or prickly cactus gardens, sift through Walden Pond looking for aquatic wildlife, and even excavate our archeological dig site looking for lost dinosaur bones. Don't for get our spacious picnic areas that are great for group games and festive lunches. And remember, after your party is over you and your guests may stay until the park closes. So come join us for your next birthday!

Hands-On Birthday Party Classes

Animal Mania (K-6th)
Compare reptiles, mammals, birds, amphibians and fish in this fun class. Your children will get to touch and observe many different types of animal bones, furs, and other specimens. They will even get up close and personal with visits with some of our resident animals.


Insects and Spiders
Learn the roles that insects and spiders play all arounf us in nature. You and your guests will really see how "bugs" are different from each other, and how their bodies are designed to help them survive in nature!

Dino-Mite (K-6th)
Hands-on experience with our fossil collection will make you an expert junior paleontologist. Dinosaur characteristics and the three ages of the Mesozoic era will be explored. Party guests will go on a miniature dinosaur dig, and make their own fossil rubbings and dinosaur tracks.

Weird Science (K-6th)
A wildly fun experience! Students encounter weird chemical reactions, gasses, fog and many fun surprises. Students get to experience the mysteries and wonders of science with bubbles, color-changing experiements, and more. They'll even get to create their own mini explosion!

Magnets and Electricity
Get your party guests charged up about magnets and electricity! Everyone will get the chance to explore the properties of magnets in action. They'll even defy gravity with one of our favorite magnet activities.

Rocket Science (K-6th)
The history and science behind rocket engineering. Children will get to learn about flight by creating their own models in class. The class ends with a real liftoff!

Earthquakes and Volcanoes (K-6th)
Learn about earthquakes, volcanoes, and lava! Party guests will makes their own miniature clay volcanoes to erupt at your party. They'll even get to see our own Discovery Center volcano erupt!

Pond Life
Spend your birthday exploring our very own Walden Pond. Your kids and their party guests will study the animals and plants that call our Walden Pond "home." You will see how every living thing has a place in this world.
