| Join us for Saturday Science... |
Are your kids looking for something fun to do? Get ready for "The Human Body and Special Events!" all this month. Bring the kids to join us for Saturday Science classes this October. Classes are $5/family and start at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
- October 3, 2009 - "Muscles and Tendons"
Come make your own joints out of rubber bands and learn how they move.
- October 10, 2009 - "Skeleton and Skin"
We will be looking at the skeleton and the skin to learn how both give protection to our internal organs.
- October 17, 2009 - "Cardiovascular and Nervous System"
See how your heart and lungs work together to get oxygen through your body and find out how your body knows when to move. We will also be dissecting a sheep heart and lung!
- October 24, 2009 - "Move It! Dig It! Do It: The Science of Machines! Event"
An outdoor, hands-on family friendly Event where kids can get an up-close look at large construction vehicles and other machines! Kids can grab the wheel, or create their own take home projects while they explore how machines work, through play and activities. DJ "Crazy Craig" will be providing the music. Learn about hydraulics, air compressors, levers & pulleys and simple machines. Bring the whole gang and let them stir up the dust! Event is $5/person, under 2 free, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Download more information here.
- October 31, 2009 - "Nocturnal Animals Event"
Take a break on the 31st for a family event that's a great Halloween alternative! We'll meet some live animals, learn real owl calls, do facepainting, and more! A great opportunity to explore our Egyptian maze and newly remodeled space capsule, too!
