President's Message: December 2007

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of The Discovery Center we extend Season’s Greetings to you and your family. This is the time of year we anticipate the arrival of a new year and look back to appreciate and thank everyone who has supported The Discovery Center throughout the past year. You may not be aware that the Center receives all funding for its programs from school visits, grants and the generosity of our supporters, and all of its programs and exhibits, including park maintenance and improvements are due to you – our loyal supporters. We hope that you enjoyed your visits to The Discovery Center in 2007 and we look forward to seeing you again in 2008.

This month is the last science camp of the year - Winter Science Camp - from December 17th - 21st. We are asking for donations of $200 to provide scholarships to Winter Science Camp for children who could not otherwise attend because their families do not have the money to send them. We will be offering the Boys and Girls Club the opportunity to send some of their members to Winter Science Camp this year and we are asking for your support to make it happen

If you are looking for a venue to host a family gathering you can rent the park for $250 on Sundays.

Finally, if you or your family are thinking about leaving a legacy and want to include The Discovery Center in your planning please contact me and I will put you in touch with a Clovis CPA firm that specializes in legacy planning.
