"How To Experience Nature Firsthand and Learn All About Pond Life!..."

Fuel Your Kids' Curiosity About the Environment

Explore Pond Life Up Close at the Discovery Center!

Are you running out of exciting ideas on how to effectively teach your kids about the environment? How do you demonstrate all the wonder and life nature has to offer with just a few lesson plans? This can be really tough to do with your kids stuck inside the classroom, especially if all they have are the photos in their textbooks. They would have to imagine the plants and animals in your lesson, without having anything to touch.

The environment we live in is constantly changing, and this is something that affects us all. Children should begin to understand how our actions dramatically affect Mother Nature, and how nature is forced to adapt. What if there was a way to really show your kids how nature affects the habitats of all living beings? Imagine a lesson that can get your kids out of the classroom while they have fun learning about the ecosystem and food chain?

You'll find all this and more on Saturdays this March at the Discovery Center! We're crawling out of the muck to bring you our Pond Life class, where kids can explore the animals and plants that call our Walden Pond "home." This preschool to sixth grade class will also teach your kids how every living thing has a place in this world. During class, they'll even get up close and personal while catching some pond critters to examine!
