What kind of 'Animal Armor' do your favorite animals have? |
Calling all you little scientists out there...Join us this November to learn all about "Animal Armor" and the many ways different animals protect themselves. Bring your toddlers on Mondays from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m., or Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Discovery Center. Nature Kids classes are just $20/members and $25/non-members to join us for the entire month.
- Nov. 2 and Nov. 4, 2009 - "Teeth and Claws"
Find out how teeth and claws are used for protection, and who uses them. What types of teeth do your favorite animals have?
- Nov. 9 and Nov. 11, 2009 - "Camouflage"
What animals have stripes? What animals have spots? Why are sharks dark on top and light on the bottom?
- Nov. 16 and Nov. 18, 2009 - "Horns"
Which animals have horns? What are horns used for? What are horns made out of? How long can they grow?
- Nov. 23 and 25, 2009 - "Body Plates"
Why do some animals have hard skin? Do some animals have shells? Can some animals leave their shells for bigger ones?
