Nature Kids this August: "Going Places"

We're really "going places" here at TDC!
Are you looking for a safe, stimulating place to take your toddlers for some outdoor fun? There aren't many local places where your little tots can safely explore nature to get a headstart on their education. Just wait til you see what's in store this August! We'll take your tots on safari, through the garden, and to the ocean - all without leaving town!

Join us for Nature Kids every Wednesday this month, where our theme is "Going Places." Toddler classes are from 10am-11am at The Discovery Center, 1937 N. Winery Ave., Fresno for ages 3-5. Special summer promotion: Your first class free, then just $20 for the whole month!

  • August 5, 2009 - Nature Kids at the Ocean"
    Learn about the ocean as a habitat, as well as what animals and plants live there, then use paint and paper to make a fish or sea creature print using our exact rubber models!

  • August 12, 2009 - "Nature Kids on Safari"
    Make your own jungle animal finger puppet and some binoculars, then off we'll go into the wilds of the Discovery Center's park side to see what animals (living and plush!) that we can find and identify!

  • August 19, 2009 - "Nature Kids in a Treehouse"
    Learn about which creatures live in trees this week! We'll look at nests made by birds and squirrels, make our own tree homes for plush animals, and decorate our class with hanging bird swings!

  • August 26, 2009 - "Nature Kids in the Garden"
    We'll learn about life in meadows at this nature kids' class. We'll go for a walk in the gardens to see how many animals and plants we can find, and then we'll plant our own seeds to take home and learn what plants need to grow!
