Summer Star Parties: Every Friday night after 8 pm this summer!
Every “clear” Friday night the Discovery Center will welcome local astronomers and stargazers. There will be numerous telescopes set up that can be viewed by the public. Please come out and join us as we take a closer look at the night’s sky. Have you ever wondered how the universe was formed, our what happens in a black hole? Or maybe you want to hear about Orion the hunter, or learn how to find the Big Dipper every night. We can find the answers to your questions and more every Friday night, so please come on out and bring the family for a night of exploration.
Nature Kids: Every Thursday Starting this September from 11 am to 12 pm
This September, we'll learn about life in the pond. We'll create a collage of pond inhabitants, and learn all about fish, frogs, ducks, turtles, dragonflies, and snakes. We'll also learn about the pond life food chain. Your nature kids will even get up close and personal with pond creatures when they go fishing in our very own Walden Pond!
Saturdays in the Park: Every Saturday Starting this September from 12 pm to 3 pm
Bring the whole family for educational fun on our grounds every Saturday! The park will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, with our educations providing hands-on activities for children from 12 pm to 3 pm. This month's activities will be some of our favorite selections from their Weird Science class offered at The Discovery Center. Bring a picnic lunch, and come check out the explosive experiments and exciting activities!
